Waiting for Spring :)

Ah.. several more weeks and it's here - Spring! I decided to work with lighter yarns and got some beautiful buttery soft organic cotton in Ecru - it's a little off-white, similar to the color of the cream on top of fresh goat milk! The yarn is very pleasant to the touch, so I'm enjoying knitting with it. I am working on some gifts for my friends, whom I'm visiting in Boston next week. I decided to make wrist cuffs and embroider them one with freshwater pearls and the other with moonstone. I hope they like it :)

Autumn Trails.

I ordered some beautiful yarn today, after had been inspired by these images, that I put into a collage, among others.. Rusty browns, blues, yellows with bright specks of other colors...

Key words & phrases that sum up scheme for the items I'm working on are ethnic, earth, sun, nature, forest, fields, wind... Ethnic can be of many many origins, but right now I get inspiration from Eastern European costumes and craft.

The Beginning.

I have in mind a collection of knit wear. A collection of unique, carefully and lovingly created clothes handmade by me. Each piece would be a creation of high quality yarn, that I'd like to turn into a favorite item in your wardrobe, comfortable and beautifully fit, something that you would pull out from your closet, when "there is nothing to wear", OR a piece that you would want to put on, when you feel like dressing into something very  special. I'm thinking through each piece, having in mind who you are. You are a free spirit, artistic, creative, self-aware, individualistic and beautiful person. Right now I have collected the drawings of items I plan on making and put them into my sketchbook. Next step - finalizing colors selection and picking the yarn! I am most excited about that.
